Dear M and A,
M, last month I watched you become a big sister. The love for your brother has been pouring out of you. Every embrace and kiss is followed by an “I love you”. I wasn’t worried you wouldn’t love your brother but your heart is so vast just for him. It surprised me that your heart has done the same thing as mine. I know things have been lonely for you since your sissy passed away. I am so grateful that you now have another sibling to love. You are so excited to teach him how to talk and play.
A, you mean so much to our family. You have blessed us at a time of pain and have brought so much hope. I found this quote online about rainbow babies and it describes perfectly how I feel. “A rainbow baby is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.” I wish more than anything you could of met your oldest sister. She wanted you so much! She was so adamant about having a baby brother. I like to think that your souls met in heaven and she placed you with us when the time was right. M has already told you all about her. You both have a very special angel watching over you.
