Family Fun in Toledo Ohio

When we relocated here from Texas, I was a bit lost what fun we could explore together as a family. Thanks to Mom on the go in Holy Toledo, I found lots and lots of ideas. While we were waiting for the pools to open last spring, we dug out the garden hose and sprinkler head for the kids. This never gets old for them! What is it with kids and water?!?

Before & After

Sharing these before and after photos has made me realize I am a chronic underexposer. While there are sometimes you may need to underexpose like in really bright scenes, this was not one of those times. Exposure adjustment to the rescue! After I adjusted the exposure, I brought up the warmth a bit using the blue/yellow temperature slider. I then popped the colors with a curve adjustment. To finish the image, I cropped in just a little to make sure M was on the rule of thirds.

The fun rainbow effect was a total accident while I playing with a prism. It was my first time using one and I’m not even sure how I did it but I love the way the rainbow and water combined. A few simple tweaks and this image is now one of my favorites!
