A Year of Stories – Two Explorers
We are so lucky to have a little bit of history in our backyard. Fort Megis Perrysburg was built in 1812 and there was a battle here between British and American forces in 1813. We were driving around town one morning and decided to stop here. The kids loved the long wooden fence and little houses that looked like faces because of the placement of the windows. We explored most of the outside of the fort. We even got a peek at the view of the Maumee River. Little Man almost gave me a heart attack getting a bit too close to the edge of the bluff. Miss “M” was begging to go inside but I had forgotten my wallet so we save that exploring for another day.
This post is part of a weekly storytelling blog circle. Be sure to pop over to Tess Runion Photography and view her husband’s birthday images.
