She shoots on location lifestyle and storytelling photography and serves the Toledo, Sylvania, Maumee, Holland, Perrysburg, Oregon and Northwest Ohio areas. She is available for maternity, newborn, baby, children and family portraits and documentary photo sessions.

Each year, I participate in a project that means so much to me. The Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project is a group of photographers that aims to encourage women to not be “ashamed” or “hide” while breastfeeding. Certain pressures from our society unfortunately do just that. Through the project, it is the hope that the more the public sees just how normal and beautiful breastfeeding is, the more those pressures of covering up will subside. I’m super proud to be one of the 70 participating photographers worldwide! I’m so excited for breastfeeding awareness week in August that I thought one of my favorite images from last year would be great for the before and after series.

Jodi and I were taking cover in downtown Perrysburg due to an unexpected rain storm. We got lucky that the rain only lasted a few minutes. It just so happened that the store front we sought shelter from the rain, had American flags in the background and they were dressed in red, white and blue. I couldn’t of asked for a better color palette! This image didn’t need much. I started by adjusting exposure. Then I popped the colors using a preset by Erin Hensley Photography. I tweaked the contrast slider and shadow slider just a little bit. Finally, I cropped it just a touch. Love the bright colors in the final image. How about you?
