Summers used to feel endless… ⁠
now they feel 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥⁠
⁠
I didn’t always think about summer like this.⁠
⁠
But lately, I keep catching myself doing the math…⁠
⁠
realizing how many we actually have left before everything changes.⁠
⁠
For me, it’s 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 before my daughter turns 18.⁠
⁠
And that just… 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 for a second.⁠
⁠
𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲?⁠
⁠
I keep thinking about the last ten years and wondering where they went.⁠
⁠
All those summers that felt ⁠
long and full and like they’d last 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳.⁠
⁠
And now?⁠
⁠
They feel 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵.⁠
⁠
A little more fleeting.⁠
A little more important.⁠
A little less time spent together. ⁠
⁠
I want to hold onto the conversations, ⁠
the shopping trips, even the smiles that slip out when she doesn’t mean them to. ⁠
⁠
If your kids are getting older, ⁠
𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘰.⁠

That bittersweet feeling of watching them grow up in real time.⁠

And it makes you want to hang onto them just a little tighter. ⁠

This month, something 𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 happened…⁠
⁠
I got to take school pictures for our co-op, ⁠
and I didn’t think I would 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 it as much as I did.⁠
⁠
There was just something really special about it.⁠
⁠
Getting to see the 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲… ⁠
⁠
their personalities, ⁠
the little in-between moments and looks ⁠
that don’t always show up in typical school photos.⁠
⁠
And getting to take my own kids’ pictures like that too… ⁠
𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩.⁠
⁠
It felt like 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 to give that back to their families.⁠
⁠
Photos that really feel like their kids… ⁠
the smiles, ⁠
the quirks, ⁠
the little expressions they see every day.⁠
⁠
It reminded me again 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦.⁠
⁠
Because 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀… ⁠
the normal ones filled with snacks, bedtime stories, ⁠
and a little bit of mess… they don’t 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨.⁠
⁠
Getting to hold onto even a small piece of that for someone else ⁠
is something I don’t take lightly.⁠
⁠
𝘐’𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘧𝘶𝘭 you trust me with these pieces of your story 💛⁠
