A Year of Stories – Washing Dishes

At our old house in Texas, our dishwasher broke.  Talk about devastation!  I NEED a dishwasher.  My husband tried to convince me we could do without a dishwasher…um…yeah…I wasn’t so sure about that.  I really tried to go along with him but man was it hard!  After a few months of only washing by hand, Miss M jumped on board and wanted to help me.  She would bring her little stool to the sink and soap up the sponge to clean as much as she could.  I will admit, I loved having her help me even if I had to go back over her dishes because she left food behind.  We eventually replaced the dishwasher which meant she didn’t get to help me hand wash anymore.  Fast forward to moving here, we thankfully have a dishwasher.  She must have missed those days of hand washing because last week after breakfast she decided to wash her brother’s highchair tray.  She spent 15 minutes washing this one tray and I didn’t even have to re-wash it!  LOL
