Toledo Ballet
Last summer, Miss M finally got her wish to attend ballet class. After researching a few of the local studios, we decided on enrolling her at Toledo Ballet. They are an established school in the area and give back to the community. They also put on The Nutcracker every year. A must see if you are in the area! At her first class, she happened to be the only student. I knew this would be a great chance to document her excitement.
Before & After
I admit sometimes when I’m shooting in public, I don’t always take the time to make sure my settings are correct. This before and after is a great example of that. I really should of taken the time to get it right in camera because I made so much more work for myself by not doing that! Both my white balance and exposure are off. I had to do a lot in post processing to correct those mistakes. After opening in ACR, I adjusted my exposure and set my white balance to auto. The color looked much better but still needed a little tweaking. In photoshop, I checked my cmky colors on a bright midtone. I created a color balance layer and adjusted the yellow/blue slider and magenta/green slider. Then I cropped using the rule of thirds and expanded the edge of the right side of the frame. I also used the patch and clone tool to edit out the speaker. To finish the image, I added just a touch of peachy haze.
