My Top 5 Maternity Poses
Maternity sessions, you either love them or are completely unsure. But if you change your mind, like when your baby is one, and realize you actually should have done a session, it could be too late. That’s why I was so happy that this momma was finally getting her maternity session after 5 pregnancies. When you see how beautiful your changing body is through my lens, it will empower you and give you so much confidence. These are a few of my favorite poses to show off the beauty of pregnancy.
Proud Momma
This is one of my favorite maternity poses. I ask mom to stand with one leg bent and her hand on her waist. I like to shoot this as a side profile to show off the curves of the body. The result is a pose that oozes a sense of pride.
Overhead
Such a fun pose to really focus on the view you are used to seeing….looking down. I love finding a unique way to add this pose into a session.
Looking Down
This is a classic maternity pose and it conveys a sense of connection with your baby. It can portray a feeling of hope and wonder about your upcoming new arrival.
Close-ups/Details
Always a favorite for me is the close-up on your stomach. Every woman has a such a different way of how their body carries a baby and I love to hone in on those details. I would encourage you to go for a bare-skin image.
Eye Contact/Smiling
This one is for the baby book! While most of my photos will focus on your connection with your baby, we definitely take a few of you smiling and looking at the camera.
