Wildwood Metro Park
One of the things we love to do as a family is explore all the beautiful metro parks this area has to offer. Moving here from a state that didn’t have nearly as many trees, makes them somewhat of a natural wonder. On this chilly fall morning, I quickly dressed the kids to explore the beauty of Wildwood Metro Park surrounded in dense fog.

Before & After
On this photo outing, I was freelensing. Given all that you need to juggle (your camera and lens) while freelensing, I find it difficult to set my meter while practicing this technique. I’m constantly “chimping” (checking the back of the camera) to see if my image is exposed properly. Because we had just came from a more shaded area, this image is overexposed. Thankfully, that was an easy adjustment.
I then cropped using the rule of thirds. I placed M on the bottom left intersecting point. Then, I used the patch tool to edit a small part of the fence that was still in the photo on the bottom left. I added contrast and clarity and also reduced the highlights. Next, I adjusted the color balance slider to add a little magenta. Lastly, I added a light center point vignette. I love the way the fog and freelensing combine to make this such a dreamy image.
