Free Photo Sessions for Cancer Patients in Northwest Ohio
Cynthia believes strongly that amazing photography should be shared with others. She founded The Gold Hope Project, a non-profit that provides free photo sessions for pediatric cancer patients. These photo sessions bring the families they serve a little bit of hope at a time when they need it most. Many families with ill children are emotionally, physically, and financially strapped; it is the heart of The Gold Hope Project to take at least one worry off their shoulders and gift them something magical – the smiles of their children frozen in time.
Sharing the gift of photography with pediatric cancer families
Something I’m forever grateful for is the photo sessions that were gifted to my family when my daughter Ava was battling brain cancer. It’s hard to put into words what those images mean to my family, especially now that she is no longer with us.
That gift meant so much to me and I wanted to be sure other families like ours could receive the same gift. It’s how The Gold Hope Project was born. I’m incredibly honored that this organization, founded in my daughter’s name, has gifted over 1100 photo sessions to pediatric cancer patients and their families. I’ve been blessed to gift a few of those sessions and each one leaves me with so much gratitude.
Colton and his family were no exception! Being able to document this time for them was so special to me and his family. Colton’s mom wanted to capture “the beauty of his strength, bravery, and courage”. She wanted a reminder that together they can get through anything. Colton will always have a tangible reminder of what a warrior he was during this time and how the love of his family got him through the unimaginable. Praying for you Colton!
If you know of a family, local to northwest Ohio or nationwide, that would benefit from a session from The Gold Hope Project, please share with them. To learn more about Ava and her impact on Cynthia’s photography, click here.
