I have a confession to make. Side Cut Metropark used to be one location that I hated photographing families at. I’m not even sure why! I just always found this park a little harder to photograph than some of my other favorite Toledo locations.
Outfits, snacks, haircuts, hangry kids…there’s a lot to think about before family photos! This fall family photo checklist will help you feel prepared without making photo day another thing to stress about.

Summer in Northwest Ohio feels like long golden evenings, wildflowers brushing against little bare feet, ice cream melting too fast, and kids staying up way past bedtime. Around here, summer nights usually end with my kids still outside long after they were supposed to come in, either spraying each other with the hose or bouncing on the trampoline while the sun disappears. It’s messy and loud and the kind of thing I already know I’ll miss someday.
That’s probably why I love summer sessions so much.
