I have a confession to make. Side Cut Metropark used to be one location that I hated photographing families at. I’m not even sure why! I just always found this park a little harder to photograph than some of my other favorite Toledo locations.
Before we moved to Ohio from Texas, my father in law took us to Oak Openings during one of our visits. It might sound silly, but I was completely blown away by all the trees! This Florida girl didn’t know what to do with so many oaks everywhere.
The first time I found this spot along the Maumee River, my boys were instantly all in. Climbing over the rocks, filling their pockets with little treasures, and skipping stones until the sun disappeared behind the trees.
That’s what I love most about this location at Side Cut Metropark. It feels peaceful and adventurous all at once.
Trying to find a new photographer for your family can feel like… a lot.
Everyone you know has their favorite, and the second you ask in a Facebook mom group, you’re suddenly staring at a hundred different names wondering how you’re supposed to choose just one.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not doing it wrong. It just means you care.
