Location Spotlight – GardenView Flowers
GardenView Flowers is a family owned flower farm just outside Toledo, and it’s one of those places you can tell is cared for so well. From the u pick gardens to the little details throughout the property, everything feels thoughtful and inviting.
You can plan a slow morning or evening there, building your own bouquets, stopping by the little shop, or even working with them to design florals for a wedding or another special event.
Or, my favorite, take photos on their gorgeous property!

A Slow Summer Evening
The sun dipped low as they stepped into the garden, and the kids took off down the path like they had been there before. They didn’t hesitate or look back. They just ran, curious and ready to explore.
Mom and dad followed a little slower, taking it in. The light hit the flowers just right. Their kids laughed somewhere ahead of them. It didn’t feel like a photo session. It felt like one of those evenings you wish you could hold onto a little longer.
And honestly, that’s where the goodness begins.
A Family I’ve Grown With
When this family booked a summer session with me last year, I knew I wanted to take them somewhere new.
We’ve spent so many sweet evenings together over the years. Running along the shoreline at Maumee Bay State Park in the summer, wandering through Oak Openings Preserve Metropark in the fall, and chasing those early blooms at Cannonball Prairie Metropark in the spring.
So this time, I wanted something a little different. A place they hadn’t explored yet, but one I knew would give their kids space to move and so much beauty to take in along the way.
Photos at GardenView Flowers felt like the perfect fit.

Letting Kids Be Kids
Right away, the kids made it their own.
They wandered down the paths, stopping every few steps to look a little closer.
One smelled flowers. The other ran ahead, then circled back, again and again.
They didn’t need direction. They just needed space. And that’s the part I love most.
I didn’t ask them to stand still or look at me. I let them lead, and I followed along.
The way they reached for mom’s hand without thinking. The way dad scooped one of them up. It all unfolded exactly how it was meant to.

Why I Love GardenView Flowers
The first time I visited GardenView Flowers, I couldn’t believe the beauty.
Rows and rows of flowers stretched out in front of me, moving softly in the sunlight. Everywhere I looked, there was something new to take in.
One of my favorite parts is how welcoming they are to photographers. The team is so kind and helpful, always pointing out spots they know will photograph beautifully. And they’re right every time.
I especially love the back fields, tucked away from the main u pick garden. It feels a little quieter back there, with more space for kids to move and explore.
When we visited, the cosmos were in bloom, and later in the summer, the hydrangeas take over and completely change the feel of the space.
I also love the flower mural right when you pull in. It’s bold, colorful, and adds such a fun energy to the whole place.

What a Session Feels Like
A session here feels easy in the best way.
Your kids don’t have to stand still. They can run, pick flowers, wander a little, and come back in close when they’re ready.
There’s no pressure to get it just right.
You don’t have to overthink it either. You show up, stay close to your people, and let the evening unfold.
I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’m mostly watching for the moments that are already happening. The hand squeezes. The quick hugs. The way your kids lean into you without even thinking.
It’s simple. It’s relaxed.
And it leaves you with photos that actually feel like your family.

Watching Them Grow
When I look back at this session, I can’t help but notice how much these two have grown since the first time I met them.
It’s one of my favorite parts of doing this year after year. Watching the little changes. The way they carry themselves a bit differently. The way their connection as a family deepens over time.
I’m so grateful for their parents and the trust they’ve given me to keep showing up and capturing these seasons as they come and go.

Now, it’s your turn!
If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos, this is your little nudge.
This season doesn’t last long. The way they laugh and move and stay close without even thinking. It all changes, little by little.
Having photos at GardenView Flowers is one of those places that makes it easy to slow down and just be together.
If that sounds like something your family needs, I’d love to help you plan it.
