Toledo Museum of Art
I’m so glad that we were introduced to the Toledo Museum of Art so soon after we moved to Toledo. It is such a gem! We love visiting the family center. The kids can create their own masterpieces, play with fun and unique toys, and let their imagination take center stage. They have special gallery exhibits too. We heard about the “rainbow” exhibit and had to see it for ourself. It was incredible. Different colored strings were secured from the ceiling to the floor and seemed to change color right before your eyes. The kids loved getting a closer look, as did everyone else!
Settings
f 2.8; 1/160; iso 1600
Looking at these settings now, I should of bumped up my iso to get a higher shutter speed. I don’t advocate using such a low speed with children. They like to move!
Before & After
The playfulness in this image instantly stood out to me. The three kids on the floor are looking for a way to play and not paying attention to this huge piece of art right in front of them. The boy on the left of the image is acting like a frame for those children and he is applauding something, the big rainbow perhaps? This image is slightly underexposed. After bringing it into ACR, I moved the exposure slider just a touch to the right. Moving the exposure created a few blown highlights. I adjusted the highlight slider to remove them. Then I added contrast and a small vignette. Finally I cropped out the woman and frame on the right side of the image. Those simple tweaks to this photo really allowed the colors of the rainbow to pop.
