Your kids get to be kids and your husband might actually enjoy himself! It’s not often that young kids and dads enjoy getting their photo taken. Being told where to stand and say cheese can be exhausting. It’s not exactly what most people think of when they want to have a good time with their family. But with a storytelling photo session, the opposite is true. Since, our main goal with these sessions is to capture candid and natural images, everyone in your family has the chance to relax and play. It’s almost as if inviting a friend over who happens to be taking photos.
You don’t have to leave your house. Getting everyone fed, dressed and presentable is a feat in of itself but add to that getting them in the car and sometimes that can be downright challenging! A storytelling family photo session happens in the place that you spend most of your time with your family, your home. This is always super convenient for you. Heck, you don’t even have to dress the kids if you don’t want to!
You can play, cuddle and even have a snack. The flexibility of an in home session means you can do whatever you would normally do on a typical day at home. For most families I document that means playing together, cuddling, having a snack, reading, bath time, etc. Your daily routines are something that can change at any time. There are lots of little details in your gallery. You may not realize it but your home is filled with so many details that will also change. The photos on your fridge or that stack of diapers could soon morph into a pile of chapter books or legos. Those details around your home stand out to me. I preserve them on film in a way you may not have thought to do. There are also little details about your child that I know you want to remember. Like their spiral curly hair or chubby little cheeks, whatever is unique and special about your child will be highlighted in your gallery.
