Last year was a time of rest for me. Mainly because I was growing a tiny human! I stepped back from client work to focus on welcoming this sweet little guy.

My pregnancy wasn’t too eventful but we did have a few hiccups along the way. I developed gestational diabetes (for a second time!) so dealing with a strict diet while pregnant is no fun but luckily I can eat all the sweets I want now.

We decided early on not to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. We were split down the middle with our guesses. I would of told you for sure he was a boy! It was shocking to realize “she” was a he!

After a few days of prodromal labor, I wasn’t sure if my contractions I was feeling on that December day were the real deal or not. At 3 pm, I decided to start timing them. They were still very sporadic but getting stronger. We called my midwife and she suggested I take a bath to relax and see if they continued. When they did, we decided to head to the hospital.

When we arrived at St. Vincent’s, I thought I would be further along than 3cm. I paced the room and leaned on my husband during contractions. When I laid down in bed, my water broke and I knew it was time!

Archer was born soon after. I loved taking in his sweet squishy face and wrinkly hands and feet. Besides being tired, I felt great after his delivery and I’m so thankful I was up to taking these images of him. It’s been almost four months since his birth and he has changed so much!

Fresh 24/48 sessions are one of my favorite to shoot. I mean there isn’t much better in this world than newborn baby goodness!
