The Best Location for a Relaxed Photo Session

One question I often get asked is, how do I find my locations? It takes A LOT of scouting to find places to take clients. We are so lucky that the Toledo area has so many wonderful Metroparks. There are so many hidden gems within them and the best way to discover them is to get out there and search.

I do this a lot with my own children. We pack up a bag with snacks and my camera to head out to new parks. They get to run and play while I scout different places. Last year, we made a goal to explore 3 new parks in one season. That goal brought us to a few new parks that we now love to visit.

This was a new-to-me location that I discovered as a midpoint between this family and myself. Now I want to shoot here all the time!

This spot offered so much versatility. The tall grass worked great for some relaxed portraits. There was an abandoned log randomly placed in front of some greenery that was a wonderful spot to cuddle up. The big open space was perfect for catching a beautiful sky and the moon while this family danced and played. Ready for the cherry on top? It was all right by a parking lot!
