This fresh 24 photo session at Labor and Delivery St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon made my heart sing! It is so hard to describe the energy that surrounds new parents after they meet their baby. Love is just pouring out of them, which makes documenting that love super easy! When your little guy is this sweet and cuddly, how could you not be in love?!?

Before & After
The connection between this family immediately stood out to me when I was with them. I love how they both have their hands on their sleeping baby here. When I saw the light hitting baby’s face, I knew it would convert to black and white beautifully. After opening the photo in ACR, I added a preset by Erin Hensley called window light bw. I love the way this preset works with so many of my images. When the preset was applied, I tweaked it just a little by bringing up exposure and the shadows. Then, I brought down the highlights and added clarity. Finally, I cropped it in just a little so the family would fill the frame. Love the final edit!
