The Dance Factory

I have watched my daughter dream of being a ballerina. I’m not sure what it is about dance that calls to so many young kids, but as a parent you want to foster that creative desire. Finding the right dance studio can be an overwhelming experience. The Dance Factory in Perrysburg stood out to me because I felt like they could understand the drive of young families. I was right!

Kati McDougle, owner of The Dance Factory, is passionate about teaching. With all of the women on her mother’s side of the family choosing teaching as their profession, she feels in runs in her blood. She grew up competitively dancing and studied professionally at the University of Las Vegas. She taught at a few local studios before looking for a space to call her own. It can be a big leap to take that first step to doing what you love and so many in this community are glad she did!

Eight years ago, she took over JJ’s Dance Factory and made it her own. The unique line up of classes and hometown feel really helps both parents and kids feel welcome and special at this studio.

Classes

From toddlers to grown-ups, there is a class for everyone at The Dance Factory. For the under 4 crowd, there is a Mommy & Me or Creative Movement class. Little ones have lots of fun in these classes and look forward to coming back for more! Older kids can choose from tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, combo or competitive dance training. Adults can enjoy the baby wearing class or yoga. The options are abundant!

Activities don’t stop at the studio during the summer either. There are a few different summer camps coming up and dance intensities for older students. Check out the upcoming events here!

Giving Back

When I met with Kati, I felt a strong connection to her because of her work with the community. She is also involved with Perrysburg Public Schools outreach programs and brings dance to boys and girls who might not be exposed to the dance experience. I was inspired by her giving heart and desire to help the community.

Focus

Kati told me that each child that comes through their doors is special. With their focus on teaching life skills through dance and how to fulfill a commitment, it is easy to see how that support would lift a child up.  This mom of two young kids is so encouraging. She wanted to be sure to let you know that she is doing what she loves and you can too! You are extraordinary.
