I know that preparing for a family photo session can be brutal. From making sure you have coordinating outfits that the kids don’t rub dirt on two minutes after you dress them to praying they behave long enough for one decent photo; I’m sharing a few ways to make the whole process so much easier.

Photographing this momma
𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 than just
creating beautiful images.
 It was about 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴
a 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 moment.

This baby is already so 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥,
and the 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 to this point
has been filled with
𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩, and quiet 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴.

It means the world to be
a small part of this season,
the one they’ve 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 of for so 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨.

you brought home is⁠
suddenly laughing, running, and has become a 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘳. ⁠

I couldn’t believe how much this sweet girl ⁠had 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 since her first session. ⁠

beautiful family again ⁠and ⁠

Like this sweet boy, ⁠
who started off a little unsure ⁠

with the biggest smile. ⁠

His parents were calm, patient, ⁠
full of praise and love ⁠
and together, ⁠

Some sessions just 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 in the 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘺.⁠
⁠
This was one of them... ⁠
probably because I got to work ⁠
alongside another talented creative ⁠
and just 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 with the 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, ⁠
the 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, and how 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 is.⁠
⁠
I found myself playing more with the light, letting it guide the story as much as the 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 between this 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢 and her 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦.⁠
⁠
It still feels true to my style, ⁠
but with a little 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. ⁠
A little more 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘸.⁠
⁠
There’s something really special ⁠
about watching a ⁠
𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 ⁠
while also 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺 ⁠
she hasn’t met yet. ⁠

That layered kind of 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 is ⁠
𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭⁠
and I’m so 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 ⁠
I get to witness and document it.⁠
