I see beauty in everyone else so easily…⁠

I did not want to step in front of the camera for new headshots.⁠

Not because I didn’t want the photos…⁠
𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.⁠
⁠
It’s funny, isn’t it?⁠
⁠
I spend my days showing moms how beautiful they are,⁠
how much their kids adore them,⁠
how natural and connected they look…⁠
⁠
…and then it’s my turn, and 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜’𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.⁠
⁠
I overthink what to wear.⁠
I know I’ll feel awkward.⁠
I question if I’ll even recognize myself (𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝟦𝟢𝘴!)⁠
⁠

You’re not standing there wondering what to do with your hands.⁠
You’re not stuck in your head picking yourself apart.⁠
⁠
𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦.⁠
⁠
Your child reaches for you without thinking.⁠
You laugh at something small and unexpected.⁠
You tuck their hair behind their ear like you always do.⁠
⁠
And somewhere in the middle of all that…⁠
𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀.⁠
⁠
That’s the 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨.⁠
⁠
And 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴.⁠
⁠
That’s what your kids will see one day.⁠
Not the things you worried about.⁠
⁠
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶.⁠
The way you held them close.⁠
The way you looked at them.⁠
The way it always felt to be yours.⁠
⁠
So if you’re waiting until you feel more confident,⁠
more put together,⁠
more like yourself again…⁠

this is your reminder that you don’t have to.⁠

I think it’s okay to admit that motherhood is overwhelming⁠ and photos sometimes feel like “one more thing.”⁠
⁠
One more thing to plan.⁠
One more thing to coordinate.⁠
One more thing to show up for when you already feel stretched thin.⁠
⁠
But what I’ve seen, over and over again,⁠
is that this ends up being the thing you’re most grateful you didn’t put off.⁠
⁠
Because it’s less than an hour.⁠
Less than an hour of slowing down,⁠
pulling your people in close,⁠
and just being with them.⁠
⁠
And somehow… that small window⁠
turns into so much.⁠
⁠
The way they reach for your hand.⁠
The way they melt into you.⁠
The way you laugh together without even thinking about it.⁠
⁠
Moments you didn’t have to force.⁠
Moments you didn’t have to plan.⁠
⁠
Just moments you got to be in.⁠
And that’s what lasts. ⁠
⁠

without the pressure to pose, sit still, or fit a mold.⁠

That’s 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 waiting to be captured. ⁠
