Something I’m forever grateful for is the photo sessions that were gifted to my family when my daughter Ava was battling brain cancer. It’s hard to put into words what those images mean to my family, especially now that she is no longer with us.
That gift meant so much to me and I wanted to be sure other families like ours could receive the same gift…

We all love flipping through those photo albums filled with candid laughs, silly expressions, and heartwarming embraces. what about those perfectly posed family portraits that make you feel like you’re flipping through a magazine? It’s the age-old dilemma: candid or posed?
When I first began photographing client sessions, there was a particular type of session that always made me incredibly nervous. Can you guess which one? It was whenever there was a tween or teenager in the family. I think I was so anxious around this age group because I didn’t have much experience capturing their moments in front of the camera.
