Do your kids suddenly forget how to listen the second a camera comes out? 😂⁠

Yeah, mine too! (seriously, you think it should be easier for them!!)⁠

I think we stood still for maybe five photos during this entire session ⁠
⁠
and the rest of the time we moved... a lot…and that was so much fun!!
⁠
I don’t need your kids to stand still or be on their best behavior. ⁠
⁠
I want to hang out with them, ⁠
let them explore, ⁠
and have fun together! ⁠
⁠
You don’t need to spend the whole session telling everyone to smile ⁠
or stressing about what your kids are doing.⁠

I had so much fun spending the morning with this family while they picked strawberries together.⁠
⁠
Driving home, I kept thinking about all the summers we did the very same thing with our own kids. ⁠
⁠
buckets full of strawberries, ⁠
their little hands eating as many as they could, ⁠
and red juice on faces and clothes before we even made it 5 minutes in⁠
⁠
And then...it changed.⁠
⁠
We still go, but it looks so different! ⁠
⁠
Two are as tall as me...⁠
they actually fill the basket instead of emptying it...⁠
and somehow we make it to the car without anyone covered in strawberry ⁠
(okay well maybe my youngest still gets a little on him...)⁠
⁠
I love this season too.⁠
⁠
But I’m really thankful I have photos from those messy summers, because they didn’t last nearly as long as I thought they would.⁠
⁠
That’s why I love documenting families in seasons like this. ⁠
One day you’ll look back and realize these little traditions didn’t disappear. They just grew up alongside your kids.⁠

Can someone explain how we already the second week in July?!?!
⁠
It feels like we just got out of school, and somehow July is already flying by. My birthday and the 4th are behind us, we are squeezing in plenty of pool days, taking a super last minute family vacation, and I’m already wishing summer would slow down just a little…but I’m so thankful to soak it all up!
⁠
